” The fact that this will be a more of a mockumentary than a reboot seems like a smart move given the fact that the series already saw one reboot run from 2008 to 2013.

According to Fox, this reboot features “a big twist.” Instead of picking up where the lives of their once-teen characters left off, this new “event” will see the entertainers play “heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialized drama — with a healthy dose of irreverence — that is inspired by their real lives and relationships.” In a press release promoting the summer series, Fox explained that the actors came back together when one of them suggested a reunion was long overdue.
